Managing Pages

The Manage Pages option provides a compact view of all pages on your site. From it you may access various page-related functions such as page settings, the options to publish, copy or delete a page, set a Home page or a custom Page Not Found, create folders and move pages to folders. These options not only allow you to better arrange the pages on your site, but also significantly improves your search engine ranking, as explained in this article.

The Manage Pages option is available in the Control Panel menu. To access it, click Control Panel option on top right in your website Admin and select Manage Pages.  A pop up with the list of pages and management functions will open.

You may easily find any page by searching for its page name in the search box on top. To change the number of pages displayed per page, enter the desired number in #Results box. There is also an option to search pages part of a specific folder or redirects.

Manage Pages window allows you to create a new pages,  new folders or new redirects.

Watch our short video for adding folders and 301 redirects here.

Create folders
You can easily arrange your pages in folders. To create a new folder click on the red New Folder label. A pop-up window will appear, name the specific folder and click Add.

Create Redirects

The creation of 301 redirects enables you to forward any URL within your domain to a specific page from your site or to an external site. This is especially useful if you have inbound links to a page that no longer exists and you don't want to lose the search engine juice from that link.

Page Notation

The list of pages will appear sorted by Last Published date, with the most recently published pages on top. The published date is in your local time zone. You may also sort the pages alphabetically by clicking the Name link on top. Each page linked from a navigation menu has an asterisk (*) after the page name.  The size of the pages is also displayed in the list.

The The page is already published to the end view icon shows if the page is published or not. If this icon is gray - all changes applied to the page have been published. If you applied some changes to the page in Admin view but did not publish them to end-user view - a red  icon will show that the page has not been published.

The blue home icon Set As Your Home Page marks the page that is currently set as your home page. A blue arrow icon  marks the page that is currently set as your custom Page Not Found. This 'page not found' page will be displayed if a visitor tries to access a non-existing page of your site.

Editing Page Properties

The first icon in the Actions column Edit This Page will allow you to view and update the Page Properties for the specific page. For details, please refer to the Page Properties tutorial.

Publish Pages

Through Manage Pages you can easily track which pages are not yet published to Normal view and publish several or all pages. To publish a particular page, click on the red  icon. To publish all pages click on the Publish All Pages button at the bottom of the screen.

Delete a page

Your website features a protection mechanism against broken links - it will not allow you to delete a page which is still linked from the menu or other pages on the site. So, if you wish to delete a page, first make sure that all links to it are removed and then follow these steps:

  • In the Manage Pages screen, locate the page you want to delete and click the bucket icon.

  • If a reference to this page still exists, a small notification popup will appear. Remove the link and click the bucket icon again.

  • Your page is now deleted from Admin and Normal view, no need to publish.

Set a Home page

By default, we set your first page as Home page. To set another page as home, open Manage Pages, as described above. In the list of pages locate the one you wish to set as home page and click the Home icon  on the same row. The change will take effect immediately.

Create a custom Page Not Found

If someone tries to access a non-existent page URL from your website, they will see the default Page Not Found. You may, however, create your own 'not found' page and redirect such hits to it. Here is how:

  • Open Manage Pages, as described above.
  • Track the page you want to set as your Page Not Found
  • Click the arrow  icon. Now all hits to non-existent pages will be redirected to this new 'not found' page and you will not lose traffic due to mistyped page URLs.

Move your page to a folder
In order to move a selected page to an existing folder, click on the folder icon.  Then a pop-up window will appear. Select the desired folder form the drop-down menu and click 'Move'.

Duplicate page
The icon allows you to duplicate a whole page.  Clicking the duplicate icon from the Manage Pages Actions will automatically copy the selected page. The duplicate of the page will appear as Copy of [your page name]. You can remane it later by clicking the Edit This Page   icon.

You can delete, duplicate, publish and move multiple pages selecting the options at the bottom of Manage Pages window.
