Integrating a Google Map into your website

You can now help your visitors find your office or store location easily by integrating a Google map within your web site.


1. Login to your existing Google account or create a new account . Go to My Maps tab and click on 'Create new map' button. Assign a Title name and add Description to your map. Choose Public radio button from Privacy Settings:

   

2. In the main area that contains the map choose the location of the address you want to map. Use the selection tool  ( icon) to locate the place. You can zoom in and out the scale of the map. To further customize your map, add placemarks, lines and shapes. To mark your address on the map, select a placemark  ( icon) and set it on the address in the map area:
    
   
3. When ready click the Done button. You can always change the features of your map by clicking the Edit button:
  

  
4. Select  Link to this page. Copy the code from Paste HTML to embed in website and paste it in an HTML snippet in your site. You can further customize the appearance of the embedded map by selecting the link Customize and preview embedded map.
  
 
5. Go to your site and enable the HTML element from Add Content > More..> HTML snippet. You can also add the HTML snippet through the HTML snippet element in your Text and Image Editor. Paste the Google Map code within the HTML Snippet box and click Update.
 
  
6. Preview the map on your page. Visitors should be able to zoom in and out, switch between different views for the map, get driving directions.
 

  
Integration with Google Maps will not only facilitate visitors in locating your office or store - it will also make it easy for potential customers to find you when searching by company name or type of service in a particular area on Google Maps.
