Business Designs Content Areas

The Business designs are designs that feature multiple navigations (one with subnavigation), different navigation and page layout options, site and page color themes, page header options, option to control the footer icons, text styles, etc. With the Business designs you can build and launch a fully-fledged business website, customize it to match your corporate branding and optimize it for search engines.

The Business designs differ in their navigation and page layout, as well as in the options provided for structuring the content, but they all have the same key content areas, as illustrated below.

Navigation Areas

Business designs have up to four navigation areas - one main navigation with subnavigation, and up to three secondary navigations. One of the secondary navigations is the bottom navigation, positioned between the copyright area and the Footer Icons. Theere may be up to two top-positioned secondary navigation areas. Some designs also feature per-page navigation. With some designs the location of the different navigation areas may be controlled from the different Page Layout options.

Logo and Slogan

The site header area may be branded with your own logo and slogan. To upload a logo open Site Properties and upload your logo image in the Logo area. The uploaded image will appear in the top left of your website. To add a logo and/or slogan in the center or right part of the header area, add them using the Text and Image editor. Add a Text and Image editor from the Admin menu > Add Content and click the green rectangle in the header area to add your logo and slogan there.

The content added in the header area is shared across all pages - this means you should only add the logo and slogan to one page from the site and they will be displayed across all other pages. You may also use this shared area to add HTML snippets (for example, snippets for adding Google Analytics code) or other content that should reside on all pages from the site.

Copyright

Just like there is a shared content area at the top of your site, there is a shared copyright area at the bottom left. This area may be used to add your own copyright text, HTML snippets or other information that should be shared across all pages. To add content to the copyright area choose the desired content from Add Content menu and click the green rectangle displayed inside the copyright area.

Page Header Images

Some designs have the option to use an image or animation inside the header area of the page. You may use one of the available stock images, upload your own image or animation. Please refer to the Page Header Images tutorial for more information on this option.

Footer Icons

The Footer Icons are located at the bottom right of the design. You may control the appearance of the icons as well as turn them off completely.

Sections

To structure your page content in a more readable and visually attractive manner, you may add it inside Sections.

Page Layout

In addition to structuring your content using Sections, you may split your page in Text Columns. Inside each Text Column you will be able to add any type of content included with your plan - Text and Image, Image Gallery, Forum, etc. Most designs allow you to split your page in columns using the Text Columns option in Page Properties. A few other designs have special left/right columns enabled from Page Properties. These are:

  • Aurora - you may enable the left-side column from Control Panel > Page Properties > Special Features > DisplayLeft Column.
  • Cocoa - you may enable the right-side page column from Control Panel > Page Properties > Special Features > Display Right Side Column
  • FutureTech - you may enable the left-side and right-side page columns from Control Panel > Page Properties > Special Features > DisplayLeft Navigation Column and Display Right Side Column

Text resize

The text resize option  is available with Aurora and Chromia designs only and is located at the top right of the website content area. This option will let your site visitors increase or decrease the default font size used throughout your site. 3 font size options are available on click of the resize icon.
